One thousand ninety six. Days.

Yup, that's exactly how many days Dina has been "Mrs. Macuil" :)

Our three year anniversary is here and as were packing a few things to take on our little get-a-way trip to Vegas, I thought I'd share a couple of pics from our wedding and honeymoon.....

Here's my favorite photo from our wedding day
bw_swing.jpgHere's a photo I love. I took it with my little Nikon D70 as Dina, Christal, Nancy and Michelle were dancing away. It was late already and I had decided to add an accesory piece to Dina's dress....

I can't believe that tomorrow it'll be three years since Dina and I were married! I remember I stayed up super-late the previous night trying to get all kinds of last minute things done. Yet, with only a few hours sleep, I woke up and was ready for all the activities of this amazing day. Basically, I was a crazed fool, trying to check, double-check, and triple check all kinds of things. I was nervous. I was scared.

But the following day turned out to be amazing, just about everything went as planned. So many of our close friends and family helped make it an unforgettable, perfect day for Dina and myself. I want to once again thank all our friends and family (you all know who you are) that helped out and joined us for that hot sunny summer day 3 years ago!

I was nervous that day, but the moment I saw Dina in her wedding dress....I was just about speechless. I didn't know what to say, seeing her in her dress was an absolutel beautiful moment. Check her out....

Ok, we all know the iPhone is a cool phone/ipod/browser, but unless you are using plenty of the applications that have been designed for use on the iPhone, you are not taking full advantage of this device.

Dina found a free app called "Lose It", designed to help you lose weight by being your handy-dandy calorie counter. It asks you for your info, height/weight/age/gender, then asks for your "goal".

I decided to try it, it was free anyways. And after one week of using it, I"ve lost 5 lbs. It helps to make you very aware of everything you are about to eat. It "budgets" your daily calorie intake, so when you see yourself reaching the max calorie amount for the day, it really helps you stop eating or start exercising! Try it....

Here are my goals: I started last week at 216lbs, now I'm at 211. By October 11th, I want to be at 190 lbs. I'll post on my efforts every once-in-a-while, just to feel even more obligated to lose those 21 lbs!

Visiting a new city is always a great experience. What makes it even more memorable is when you encounter some amazing musicians playing for donations on the street! They do it because they are inspired, because they love it, because they just....have to. I always make sure to put some money into their tip jar, please do the same if they entertained you for a bit!

The photo below was taken in Puerto Vallarta last year. I'm so mad that the video file had issues and for some reason couldnt upload! The sounds and rhythms they created and played for like 15 minutes straight were captivating.

If you scrool further down, you'll see a few videos we captured with our little point-n-shoot camera while we were in europe last summer. Enjoy!

What if Dina quits her job and now does the photo thing full-time? What if it doesnt work out? What if our photo business isnt too busy this year? What if unexpected expenses creep up on us? What if? What if? What if?!?!!?

We asked ourselves the "what if" question over and over but finally decided that having Dina quit her job and take a much needed break was the right thing to do. Sometimes, we tend to run around trying to do so many things at once that we forget what it's like to focus on just a few things, but doing them at 150%. Thats what we decided to do.

Against so many peoples advice, Dina quit her job and will now be focused on being more involved in the photo business, in volunteer work, and being healthier. Those of you that know her know that her allergies sometimes make her life so miserable. Well, in just a couple of months off, she's doing way better with them; thus, making it even more obvious that we made the right choice.

Yes, we know the economy is kicking everybody's butt, including ours, but we prepared for it and we're going to try extra hard to make this work. So, little by little, Dina keeps learning and taking on different responsibilities at "work" :) Needless to say, she's my favorite employee! Seriously, she's doing great with the transition and I think she'll really help us give our current and potential clients an even better experience.
She's quickly learning more and more about post-processing, album layout, etc.etc. In the meantime, if you email us, you'll get a response from Dina, via email or phone call or text. Our customer service has now improved! Our goal is for us to respond to you almost instantly! Dina will get the job done. Try it :)

So, leave Dina some love via a comment!
